My week in Europe couldn’t have gone by any faster. Here’s some snapshots of my adventures in Paris this past week:

I miss Sophia so much! It was so good to see her for a little over 24 hours in Paris. I took the train from London to visit her for a night. My family also lives in Paris so we got to stay with them. For those of you who don’t know her, she’s my best friend who is in Dijon teaching English for a year. You can follow her adventures through her Tumblr, Vie en Rose

I’m packing my bags and heading out to London and Paris to meet up with friends and family for a bit. I need to clear my mind, get inspired, and hit the refresh button every now and then. So for my travels, I just picked up this bag for my adventures in Europe.

The Wilderness Downtown

The Wilderness Downtown is a gorgeous interactive film which features your childhood home. You simply put the address of the house in which you grew up in, and you’ll see your childhood home (with the help of Google Maps of course) being transformed from your imagination. This reminded me so much of my childhood home when my backyard was my dwelling area. I’d climb the tree, spend hours in my treehouse, pick hibiscus flowers and put them in my hair, catch “rollie pollies”, and create sculptures in my sandbox.

Design Spotlight: Frank Chimero

Frank Chimero is a graphic designer and illustrator based in Portland. Chimero has talent, wit, and vision. His creations range from Andrew Bird posters to Slaughterhouse Five book covers. He uses simple elements and nostalgic typeface choices in order to convey his visual pieces.

I have definitely been swooning over his work recently:

Photo op: Moscow’s Heat wave

Such an ominous picture and unfortunate circumstance. Death polls are up to 700 people a day with Moscow’s heatwave. Regardless of Russia’s population, that is a dangerously high number.

“Our ancestors haven’t observed or registered a heat like that within 1,000 years,” Frolov said at a news conference. “This phenomenon is absolutely unique.”

These gorgeous little pieces are handcrafted by a mother and daughter in Lisbon, Portugal. Their work reminds me of old world classics that make me feel like I’m in 18th century Europe. I recently purchased this little number from their online Etsy shop where they have other gorgeous pieces.
